Our Motto
The HerAIStory stream is built upon three core pillars designed to support, connect, and amplify the voices and experiences of women in the field of Artificial Intelligence within Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our Core Pillars
1. Inspiration & Visibility (Hear Real Journeys)
Why Attend? Get inspired by the real stories of women navigating the AI landscape in NZ. Hear firsthand about their career paths, the challenges they've tackled, and the successes they've achieved. Discover relatable role models and see the diverse opportunities available in the world of AI.
What Happens? Events feature engaging speakers, insightful interviews, and panels focused on personal and professional journeys. We also spotlight exciting women-led AI projects and businesses.
2. Connection & Community (Building Networks)
Focus: Creating supportive and welcoming spaces for women interested in AI to connect with peers, mentors, and allies. Fostering a sense of belonging and shared experience. Activities: Dedicated networking sessions at events, smaller group discussions (like Story Circles, if reintroduced), potentially a dedicated online forum or group, mentorship introductions. Goal: To build a strong, supportive network, facilitate peer-to-peer learning and support, combat isolation, and create opportunities for collaboration.
3. Empowerment & Growth (Developing Skills & Influence)
Focus: Providing opportunities for women to develop relevant skills, gain confidence, and increase their influence within the AI ecosystem. This includes both technical and soft skills relevant to navigating the field.
Activities: Workshops focused on specific AI tools or concepts, sessions on leadership, communication, or navigating bias in tech, providing platforms for women to present their own work or ideas.
Goal: To equip women with the knowledge and confidence to advance their careers, contribute meaningfully to AI development and discussion, and advocate for inclusive practices.
